How do I file a police report?

  • You may call Central Dispatch at 372-9511 to request an officer come to your location within the city or come into the police station.

I need a copy of the police report I filed. How do I get a copy?

  • You will need to come into the police station to request a copy. The records division is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.  
  • There is no charge for copies of incident reports, however, there is a $10.00 charge for copies of a crash report.

I received a parking ticket downtown. How do I pay it?

  • You may put the ticket and money inside the provided envelope and bring it to the police station.  There are also fine deposit boxes in the downtown area. They are yellow and attached to light poles. You may also mail the ticket and fine to the police department. The address is on the ticket.

I just purchased a new car with an out of state title. What do I need for the police to check the car?

  • The officer needs to verify the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the title with the VIN plate on the vehicle. You will need the vehicle and the current title.

My neighbor constantly plays his music loud late at night. Can the police do anything about it?

  • Yes. Call Central Dispatch at 372-9511 when the loud music or other noise is bothering you. An officer will be dispatched to the offender's house to have the music or noise stop.

I saw a police car, with its lights and siren on, speeding down the street. After it got through the red light, it turned its siren and lights off. Did the officer do that just to get through the red light?

  • No. The officer was probably responding to an emergency call when the status of the call changed (level of emergency reduced) so he either was disregarded, or was slowing down his response accordingly.

If I see a suspicious acting person in my neighborhood, should I call the police?

  • Yes. Community involvement is very important to the police department. It takes concerned citizens working with the police to keep our community safe.
