Meet the Warsaw Police K-9's

Buddy is a Belgian Malinois (Mal-in-wa). He was born in April of 2004 in the Netherlands, where he was trained for protection. In January of 2006 he was brought to the United States and trained at Vohne Liche Kennels in Denver, Indiana. Officer Joel Beam trained with Buddy at Vohne Liche Kennels in June and July 2006.

Buddy is a Dual Purpose Narcotic Patrol Dog. He will alert on the following: Cocaine, Meth, Marijuana, Crack and Heroin.

Pako is a German Shepherd born in Holland in 2004. He was trained for protection in Amsterdam. In January of 2006 he was brought to the United States and trained with Vohn Liche Kennels in Denver, Indiana. Officer Allen Danko trained with Pako at Vohne Liche Kennels in June and July of 2007.

Pako is a Dual Purpose Narcotic Patrol Dog. He will alert on the following: Cocaine, Meth, Marijuana, Crack and Heroin.

Besides narcotic detection both dogs are trained in handler protection, tracking, building and area searches.

Both K-9s provide dozens of demonstrations each year. The K-9's provide security in the Warsaw City Parks during the summer months. They provide narcotic detection in local schools and business. The K-9's are on call 24 hours a day.
